ACES VS LIBERTY IN THE COMMISSIONER'S CUP | EP88

I just realized I didn't even put up

the damn, uh, the thumbnail.

But it's all good, whatever,

I do it after the show.

But,

welcome back to the Best Damn W Show,

episode eighty-eight.

How's everybody doing on this beautiful,

hot Tuesday evening?

Lo, I know you over there, you know,

sweating like a mug in the spirit.

Yeah, this heat wave has been disgusting.

I think it's hitting the whole country

right now, except Idaho.

It's hitting everywhere right now,

and it's been wild.

As y'all know,

the air conditioning in my car went out

at the most...

an opportune time.

It's just the worst time, honestly.

The worst time for it to go out.

That's how it should be.

Luckily,

and for everyone that doesn't know,

I'm not going to tell my career because

y'all be weird around here,

but I drive to people's homes to do

what I do.

And

yeah i'm in the car a lot so

having no air has been terrible but it

got fixed today so we we bike um

yeah that's yeah it was rough it was

rough when it's hot outside like that hot

air blowing in the car is not it

doesn't get the job done whatsoever

especially if you got sitting in traffic

listen

it's just literally and it's not even just

just hot it's the humidity like the

humidity is just disgusting it's been

awful um but yeah it's just been bad

it's been really bad i'm about to say

even when your air work that shit is

that shit is for real though yeah ac

is on ac is on overdrive at this

point like it's just so hot like

And our house is, my house is older.

So it's like,

I got to get like new insulation put

in.

So like when there's a heat wave,

it'd be disgusting.

Mine is too.

It'd be disgusting up here.

So yeah, this is over on,

it said Thursday.

So bring on the rain.

I never thought I'd be so happy.

It's going to be a hundred and four

degrees here on Friday.

That's disgusting, dog.

We have a feel like it's a hundred

and eight again tomorrow.

That is absolutely nasty.

Like I told y'all,

I would rather be on deployment right now.

I would rather deal with the dry heat

than this shit.

Man, let me tell you something.

The humidity is just what kills me.

And you know what?

I see people from the South.

When we get the show going,

I see people from the South like,

Y'all acting like babies.

Look,

that's how we feel with y'all when it's

four degrees.

Y'all act like it's the end of the

world when it's four degrees down there.

So I guess it go hand in hand.

But this shit here, like I don't want,

I don't like extreme cold,

but I definitely deal with the cold more

than the damn extreme heat.

Like when it's cold, you can layer up.

You know what I'm saying?

You can layer up and get going.

When it's hot, humid,

a hundred and ten degrees,

you can be butt booted naked.

And it does not matter.

It does not matter.

Real quick for somebody that is from the

South.

All y'all from the South can shut the

hell up.

It's hot.

It's hot.

I don't care how so-called used to the

heat that you are.

Damn it, it's hot out there.

It's hot.

I don't want to hear that.

I don't want to hear that.

Like, yeah, you're used to it,

but it's hot.

Like,

I just saw the day on the news

this morning.

It said this is the first time we're

going to have ninety five plus five days

straight in five years.

Like, we don't like, oh, man, like what?

Like we'd be humid, like we'll get like,

eighty-two,

eighty-five and it'd be humidity,

but ninety-five plus the humidity being

up, that's a hundred degrees.

That's a hundred and two.

Easy.

Jeremy, don't let the hat fool you.

I have tons of hats.

I just rock them.

Yeah, don't let him fool you, y'all,

at all.

Don't be fooled.

Don't let him fool you.

Please don't be fooled.

I just like, I like hats.

He loves hats.

But other than that, man,

I hope everybody is doing great.

Oh, I'm your host for the evening, Jay.

You know, if you're new here.

Oh, hold up.

Oh, yeah.

It's been a minute.

Yeah, I forgot, you know,

and I wasn't here last week.

So, you know, if you're new here,

I got my sister always.

Lo is in the building.

Hey, y'all.

Always.

You know what's up.

And producer,

wildly the best producer in the world on

the ones and twos is here as always.

You'll see him pop up.

You'll hear him talk in the background.

He like kids, y'all.

Don't worry about it.

He like kids.

Look, we not explaining it.

Yeah, he already explained it.

We missing our brother Nick this evening.

He takes care of adulting things,

so he's not here this evening with us,

but we'll have a good,

we'll have us a great show.

Oh, one thing.

I want to say this.

After watching...

Serena Williams today.

Like, I knew this.

Like, women, and especially black women,

are just amazing.

Like, she, forty-four, forty-five,

ain't played, she lost,

but she ain't played in four years.

She looked amazing out there.

It's like, women are just,

y'all just amazing.

And then,

I'm gonna do a shout-out to Raina real

quick, because she listened to the show.

She graduated over the weekend, man,

and she did this

She was taking care of me when I

had surgery.

You got folk hits.

Folk hits.

Working.

Working.

She was going to school every Saturday all

day from like eight to four,

eight to five,

from February until the beginning of June.

And she graduated over the weekend.

So I want to shout out to her

because y'all women,

Y'all amazing.

Y'all be holding that shit down.

She held that shit down.

She was doing everything.

She had to drive everywhere.

She cooked.

Still do her normal stuff and then take

up the stuff I was doing.

I couldn't do.

I couldn't do stuff for months.

Shout out to her for getting it done.

You know how school can be and just

having a family.

That shit can be rough.

I can't take this shit no more.

She made that shit through.

I want to shout out to her.

Really fun fact that I read the other

day,

it says giving childbirth is like breaking

twenty bones in your body at once.

Excuse me?

Is that not crazy?

Time out, time out, time out.

Can you run that back one more time,

please?

It said giving childbirth,

like being in labor,

is equivalent to breaking twenty bones in

your body at once.

That is insane.

Yeah,

so when y'all out here having kids with

no good men, don't do it.

With no good men.

I'm telling you for real, like,

you risked your life and pain.

Come on now.

Like, yeah,

I understand things can happen,

but be diligent about who you sleeping in

the bed with.

Like, I get tired of... I don't know,

Ram, but I get tired of people saying,

go have with a baby with somebody you

ain't with.

Yeah.

That shit just don't make no sense.

Like, you know, just...

Twenty bones at once is just insane

because they've been working on studies to

try to basically compare what labor feels

like.

And it's hard to really because everyone's

experience is different, of course.

But like the average person,

they're saying it's equivalent to breaking

twenty bones at once.

And that's the key that that's the key

part at once.

Like, that's crazy.

No, that's crazy.

God bless.

God bless.

God bless.

Yeah, it's closed over here.

One and done.

god bless to y'all um all right let's

get into this show man uh we got

lots to go on we got the commissioners

cup we had crazy games over the weekend

we got handshake gate if you know what

i'm talking about we're gonna talk about

that for a sec but we're gonna start

off with the commissioners cup between las

vegas aces and new york liberty asia

wilson was not she was out if you

didn't know she hurt her ankle against the

sky was that sunday

I think so.

Yes.

Saturday or Sunday, one of those days.

Yeah, it was one of them games.

Sunday, Sunday.

The whole arena of gas.

Like, everybody was just stuck.

Everyone was quiet.

You could hear a pin drop.

Yeah, it was like, oh, shit.

Because it didn't look great at first.

I just sat there like, oh, okay.

This is not like this.

Not like this.

And again, you know you're about to win.

Not like this.

You never want to get hurt,

but not like that.

But the Liberty ended up winning tonight,

ninety-three to eighty-five.

And it was a better game than I

thought it was going to be.

At first,

it looked like the Liberty was going to

you know run away with it and then

they kept fighting the aces kept fighting

kept fighting and that's the thing like we

know like we know what asia is but

when you got somebody players like chelsea

and jackie

you would think, like,

it would still be some pride over there.

We're going to hoop.

We're going to still compete.

And they did.

And somebody who's always missing his

jewel,

but I'm going to hand it off to

you, Lowe,

and give me your thoughts on tonight's

game.

You know what?

I don't believe in moral victories,

but I think the Aces played really well.

And I think that they shouldn't hold their

heads.

You know, they shouldn't hold their heads,

honestly, because I didn't expect this.

I didn't expect this to even be a

competitive game.

And like you said, Jay,

it looked like it was getting away from

them.

The Liberty was up by seventeen points at

one point in time.

And then the Aces were able to come

back.

And also in this game,

they lost Chelsea Gray for a short stint

of time when she essentially hit faces

with Feebich.

So they were out there leader on the

floor for a little bit of time as

well.

And they were able to stay steady.

You know,

we're having the same conversations that

we had last year about Jewel Lloyd.

And when I say this,

I really don't want to be disrespectful,

but the offensive decline that we have

witnessed has really been astonishing to

me.

Like,

I understand when players are regressing

or just declining overall,

but for Jules to be one of the

best scorers in the WNBA at one point

in time,

to go from that to be unable to

make wide-open threes,

to be able to make wide-open middies,

like...

I just can't put my finger on what's

going on.

Like, I just don't get it.

You know what I'm saying?

Because we've given her the excuse of, oh,

it must be mental.

And we've given her the excuse of, oh,

she must, you know,

be getting used to playing in the Vegas

system.

And it's like...

How long does it take?

Right.

How much longer are we going to give

her excuses?

Like, in this game in particularly,

this is a game that Jewel should have

thrived.

Like,

you used to be a number one option

on a team for years.

And the best player is out now.

This is your time to shine.

Like,

shout out to Kennedy because she took

advantage of her minutes out there.

I think she ended up having, like,

Jackie came alive in the second half,

ended the game with thirty one points.

But let's talk about the champions,

New York.

They still have a lot of questions to

be answered, to be honest.

With a fully healthy roster,

essentially right now,

they honestly should have blew Vegas out

of the water in my opinion.

Yes,

they play with their food a little bit

too much.

But I think it was a welcoming sight

to see Sabrina bounce back.

Twenty six points,

five boards and five assists on a night.

She's been having trouble.

acclimating back to the starting lineup

since her injury.

So we all knew that it was going

to take a few games for her to

get her legs back under her.

And she played really well today.

She hit the dagger, which let them know,

like, hey, this game is over.

And Stewie, I mean,

they had no answer for her.

Stewie was smart enough to take advantage

of not having Asia in that paint.

JJ was still camped out around a three.

But Stewie was smart enough.

Oh, for four.

I'm crying.

Stewie was smart enough to take advantage

in the paint and she had twenty five

points,

eleven boards and she had some very big

offensive rebounds that saved them several

possessions.

So overall, New York,

they play well enough to win.

But in the totality of it,

like I don't think they played a great

game.

DeMarco,

some of his rotations are very head

scratching to me.

Like that rotation,

like in the end of the third quarter,

you know, resting many of his starters,

like that's when the aces were able to

really come back in and make a push

in order for it to be a competitive

game coming into the fourth.

So some of those like my new things

right now that might not seem like a

big deal.

Will definitely seem like a big deal when

it's playoff time and money's on the line

and the championship is on the line.

And again,

this is his first time coaching women.

And, you know,

he's probably still getting familiar with

the WNBA.

But like some of the some of the

lineups have been questionable and it's

not just this game.

But overall,

shout out to the shout out to both

teams.

Shout out to the Aces for making it

a competitive game,

because once it was at seventeen points,

I know I was about to turn.

Yeah, like, I was shocked.

Like,

it was no reason for the game to

be sixty-five,

sixty-two at the end of the third quarter.

No.

Like, it was no reason for that.

Like, none whatsoever.

But, and I'm glad you did mention DeMarco.

That's his name, right?

DeMarco, right?

Yeah.

His rotations.

I've been seeing, especially Jay Lenz,

I see a lot of,

I see a lot of Liberty fans not

pull them with buddy yeah like they do

not like him they talk about his rotations

a lot um but one player i do

want to speak on i'm gonna speak i'm

gonna talk about her anyway bring her up

even though she had a good game i've

been seeing a lot of stuff on the

timeline and i had asked a question and

you know people you know take things you

know the wrong way but it was like

has sabrina piers passed her

Like, she had a good game today,

but it's like,

does she get passes because she's Sabrina?

She got a sneaker.

And, you know,

she's one of those few players that's

recognizable.

And she don't get no – I know

she came out for an injury,

but she don't get no heat ever.

I'm on the fence because I feel like

a lot of her career has been riddled

with injuries.

And the one year that we saw Sabrina

actually be able to have a complete

offseason with no injuries,

she played well.

And I think that was last year.

She played well.

She was passing the ball better.

She was shooting the ball fairly well.

But, I mean,

I think it is time to have that

conversation.

Like,

we have to remember when Sabrina came out

of college,

they were talking about her like she was

the second coming of Jesus Christ.

They were.

People forget about that.

Right.

So in terms of like those expectations,

in terms of those specific expectations,

I would say, yeah,

she's definitely underperformed.

But when you look at it in the

totality of things,

she has a ring and a lot of

people don't have a ring after playing

seven, eight years.

Yeah, that is true.

It was just Sabrina Def against the Paz

leading in the chat.

Like, I was just wondering because,

you know,

people get slandered a lot for less.

Right, correct.

And her name never pops up.

You know what I'm saying?

But she's in a perfect position, too.

Yes.

you are rarely really blaming her because

they have so many other people that can

contribute.

So even if she plays bad,

like Stewie might have a great game and

JJ might have a great game.

So they still might win.

So she gets to like brush things under

the rug a little bit more just because

she's surrounded by so much talent.

And then before Stewie and JJ got there,

the excuse was she didn't have anybody on

her team.

So it's always kind of been a reasoning,

a reasoning behind, you know,

why she hasn't been able to consistently

perform.

Mm-hmm.

Yeah,

I was just wondering how you felt about

that.

I see the chat.

Let's talk about it, J-Lens.

Ask the air, Mike.

Listen, if I'm New York...

If I'm New York,

I'm seeing what I'm not saying trader,

but I'm seeing what I can get because

now that rookie is giving you what Saab

was giving you.

She can't shoot as good as her,

but her ability to set up the offense

is better.

She's feisty.

She's going to go to the cup harder.

Like, I'm just saying I would shop around.

I ain't saying trader.

Is there a reason why we're not full

screen?

Are we not?

It does look actually weird now.

I don't know if it's like this on

the whole thing,

but it's like we're very small on one

side,

and then it's a whole big picture is

what I see on my end.

It's vertical.

What the hell?

Yeah, that's what it looks like.

On one side, it looks vertical,

and then on the other side,

it's horizontal.

I can see two pictures of us.

What the hell?

It looks like freaking what's called

StreamYard and added some shit.

I'm going to the sentence saying landscape

and portrait.

Oh, hell no.

Probably for this show, y'all,

it's going to be like that,

but going forward,

it's not going to be like that.

I hate when places change interfaces and

don't let nobody know,

but we'll get that figured out for next

week.

Did she not play tonight?

She didn't.

Her spot about to be taken, too.

Yeah, she did not play.

And it says coach's decision.

Who knows?

They said it looks like we're live twice.

One is a short and one is a

regular video.

That's what it looks like, a short.

Oh, okay.

Okay, okay, okay.

All right, Brett.

Throw me off too.

I ain't going to lie.

I'll get that fixed.

But that's crazy.

She got coach's decision and Satu was out

because of what?

Another concussion?

I don't even know, to be honest.

I don't know what's going on with Sasha.

Yeah, she was out for a concussion.

But when did she get a concussion?

Like,

that's what I'm trying to figure out.

What the hell is going on with concussions

this year?

Like,

what are they doing in practice to be

getting these damn concussions like this?

All these different players.

Like, that's wild.

That's going on.

But all of that,

shout out to the Liberty.

They won.

I need three.

Eighty-five.

Shouldn't have been way more than that.

But shout out to them.

Do y'all care about the Commissioner's

Cup?

no absolutely not never have never but

look everyone who wins it ends up losing

the championship yeah chat y'all giving

shit about the commissioners cup this type

of stuff is like that's this euro

basketball stuff they brought they brought

over here like that's euro stuff soccer

euro basketball having in in season type

stuff so

Nope, nope.

I want my gals to win that extra

money.

I feel that.

Even though they got... I feel that.

They said that about another New York...

All right, Jay Lenz.

All right, no Knicks talk.

I don't know what to do about B&A

or... How do you say her name?

Feebish?

Feebish.

Feebish.

Feebish.

Feebish.

Feebish.

Feebish.

Feebish.

Maybe it's something they don't see in

practice.

They don't like.

Coach's decision is crazy when you already

got somebody out.

So I don't know.

I just feel like she's struggling to come

back from her injury.

That knee?

Yeah,

but we have to remember she's been

injured.

That thing has been lingering for a while.

That is true.

So who knows?

And she came back on a one-year deal,

right?

Yeah,

and this will be her last year in

New York.

Yeah, it is.

I can't.

Unless something completely changes before

the end of the year,

I can't see nothing.

I mean, they're so stacked.

I mean, they need her in terms of,

like, defensive stuff, but, like,

she's not really producing offensively,

so.

Yeah, facts.

I forget Beck Allen is there.

I forget she there.

Coach's decision, she didn't play tonight,

so it is what it is.

No,

I don't care about the actual

championship.

No,

I only watched it because of the aces.

That's funny.

Anything else on this game, Lo?

Wally,

you got a thing to say about this

game?

Mm-mm.

No,

great game overall because I was with

y'all once they got down to .

I was like, ah.

Yeah.

I have to go do some other stuff

real quick.

Yeah.

But, no, look,

I gave it the old college try,

and it panned out.

It did.

It panned out.

Shout out to Jackie Young because she damn

sure put that team on her back.

She did.

Freaking... What's that girl?

Cheyenne.

Cheyenne did well.

Cheyenne did well stepping in.

That's why I was really shocked at how

Vegas,

all the role players responded outside of

Jewel Lloyd and Stephanie.

I sent y'all my thoughts.

I just can't prove it.

I just can't prove it.

But...

Overall, good game.

I can't complain.

All I appreciate is good basketball.

Yeah.

Satu had her concussion against the Aces

last week on Tuesday.

She got hit in the head.

Unfortunately,

Satu has had a concussion since game four.

Yeah, I mean...

Yeah, be careful with them damn things.

Jewel, real quick,

Jewel only had five points, two from nine,

one from seven from three.

She missed her only free throw.

KB, you know, seven points,

three rebounds, three from five.

Like,

you can't ask for too much more than

that.

She gave you seven points, so...

That's more than what Stephanie,

Stephanie gave you nothing in thirteen

minutes, one rebound,

and she shot the ball one time that

was a three and she missed it.

Can I ask a question about,

what was the,

what is she known for as a player?

Who?

And I'm not trying to, Stephanie.

Three and D.

I'm not trying to be funny,

I'm legit asking the question because

every time I've watched an Aces game,

She looks lost.

I'm dog.

Stop laughing at this stuff.

No, she does.

I'm wholeheartedly being serious about

this because it just looks like she looks

so lost when she's out there and for,

especially for her to be starting.

They said she's a token white player.

She must be doing something in practice

because she must be hooping in practice.

That's all I got.

I don't know.

That's all I got, too.

She must be.

Yes, Jewel should be ashamed.

Like Lo said before we move on,

like Lo said,

she's trying to get comfortable and

understand the system.

You get that past the first season.

We'll give you a whole season for that.

Like, but it is,

this is the second month of this new

season.

And you still out there looking like you

don't know what the hell to do.

So, I mean,

we got to wait for it to the

playoffs.

I mean, that's just annoying,

but shit like that to happen.

But it is what it is.

Like you said, it's a crazy drop off.

Sometimes people just,

games just drop off like that in Seattle.

Crazy.

Cause she not, I mean,

her games are dropping before she even got

older.

Like she not that old.

Yeah, how old is Jewel?

She gotta be like my age.

Not them shooting fireworks.

Okay, ghetto.

Here we go.

It's that week.

What's she like, thirty-three?

She gotta be what, thirty-five?

Thirty-four?

I thought she was like my year.

Oh, she might.

Man,

what year did she come out of Notre

Dame?

I forget.

She came out early, remember?

She's thirty-two.

Oh, thirty-two.

That's even worse.

Yeah.

That's even worse.

Them saxophones getting louder, sister.

Yeah, that's even worse.

Woo.

Do you guys see Satu actually fit in

with this Liberty Squire or they don't

need her?

Um...

I mean,

that's a player that averaged seventeen

and nine boards last year,

so she would make anything better.

Yeah, she's.

Yeah,

it's like it was like did did the

Liberty have need to go get her?

No,

but she just like an addition to was

like.

If she out there,

you got to you got to respect her

game if she out there regardless.

So it was like.

I mean,

I think it's going to take time for

them to like the Liberty are going to

look really good by the end of the

season.

They are one of the lengthiest teams in

the league and they're able to switch on

everything.

JJ has created a lot of mismatches for

a lot of the centers because she's now

hanging out because they have so much

spacing.

She's able to hang out even more on

the three-point line,

which is forcing centers to step out of

the paint and allowing, you know,

easy layups.

But I think just based on Satu's ability

to score to basketball, her length,

like she's going to be –

Huge for them in trying to win a

championship this year.

I think it's just going to take time.

Like they've had so many injuries,

people in and out of the lineup.

So the starting five has truly not played

many games together.

And we're what, seventeen,

eighteen games in.

We're always we're almost halfway through

the season.

And they still probably the starting five

still probably hasn't played five total

games together.

That's a that's a fact.

That is a fact.

All right.

I want to talk too much about both

of these.

I feel like we talk about,

especially the Asians,

we talk about them a lot.

This ain't nothing wrong with that.

Hold on now.

His wife listening.

You know I'm playing.

I'm the biggest cock blocker.

Yo, yeah, yeah.

Oh shit.

I knew you was gonna respond.

You know our good sister does not play

about J.

Please don't get my brother in trouble.

Please!

Oh, man.

But yeah, actually, J-Dell,

I was about to go right and talk

about the Dream.

The Dream, they had a crazy good week,

man.

They played well against the Tempo.

They beat the Fever in back-to-back games.

They beat the Tempo again, and then...

They played Golden State back-to-back

games, lost both games,

and then Saturday went to Seattle and lost

by, what, by fifteen, I believe it was?

Yes.

I think it was about fifteen they lost.

Let me double check that.

But they lost three straight,

and I feel like this is like part

of the third, fourth,

we're talking about the dream,

but they are just not, oh,

the low leave?

Yeah, she dropped off.

That's why I popped out.

But I don't know what's going on with

the Dream.

They look good one week,

then the next week they're looking bad.

They look great at home.

They look great at home.

Amazing.

These motherfuckers are six and five on

the road.

The thing is,

they need to figure out what

whatever they're doing at home needs to,

they need,

it needs to travel on the road and

it's not doing that.

And the games that they're losing,

like they're,

all these games that they're losing are

very much winnable games.

They're just not,

they're not producing the way that they

should.

They're not, they're not producing.

They look,

and I didn't even realize they was playing

that bad on the road.

I did not realize that whatsoever.

But I also see,

I see BB say they main player needs

to be more consistent.

And I'm going to go.

Both of them do.

And this was Lois just talking about.

Lois just talking about this a few weeks

ago when people was on Jordan Canada as.

And you need to be on.

Right.

You're on the wrong one.

Alicia Gray.

You need to be on Ryan.

Everybody.

Angel.

I don't want to bring her into this

because I just don't like them people.

I wouldn't bring Angel in just on the

sense that she just got here.

Yeah, she just got there.

But your main two and Ryan and Alicia,

those are the ones that people need to

hyper-focus on if we're going to be real.

Then Alicia,

did she get hurt in one of those

games against the Valkyries?

I think I might want to give her

a pass on one of those.

I think she did.

I'm not, correct me if I'm wrong.

I think she did, too.

I think she did, too.

I can't remember.

I think she got hurt.

Maybe the second one, I think it was.

I forgot.

But if you think about,

I'm looking at the box score right now,

just face value when they played the

Storm.

You had Ryan.

She had how many points?

She had twenty-seven.

She came.

Angel had seventeen.

Alicia Gray had fifteen.

I mean, to be honest,

I think – I guess my opinion on

the whole thing is I think it's a

combination of things.

I think it's their offensive

inconsistency, you know, like we said.

And I think the main thing in these

last three games that they've lost is

they've missed their defensive

assignments.

And I think prior to –

Their recent games against the Valkyries

at Dream were one of the league's

high-scoring offenses.

But Golden State, we all know,

is a team that mucks stuff up.

They're high energy.

They are very disciplined.

They're physical.

So they came in and completely disrupted

their rhythm in both contests.

Their activity made – because the Dream

like to get out in transition.

They like to play fast.

They like to get up a lot of

threes.

And the Valkyries activity forced Atlanta

into half-court possessions instead of

letting them play fast.

And in doing that,

the Dream only shot thirty-nine percent in

the first meeting and then thirty-four

percent from the field in the second

meeting and then twenty-two percent from

long distance.

And that's just...

their game is shooting threes.

And if you're shooting twenty two percent

from long distance,

you're probably not going to win that

game.

And this is my main concern about the

Atlanta Dream.

Of course,

they're missing a huge piece in Bree

Jones.

So before the comments about that.

Right.

Nas was out.

So we get that right.

But my concern with Atlanta is not their.

My concern with Atlanta is it's fun to

play fast basketball during the regular

season, but when the playoffs come,

you have to be able to execute in

the half court.

When the game slows down,

when the other team is playing you in

a series and they know your go-to plays,

they know the sets that you like.

You have to be able to slow the

ball down in the half court and be

able to score.

And sometimes when their half court

offense is mainly predicated on

Alicia going one on one or Ryan going

one on one.

It's a lot of ISO ball in regards

to like when they have to slow it

down in the half court and they need

to be able to move the ball a

little bit better, in my opinion.

And I think that's going to be a

big issue for them in the playoffs.

But I do think with Bree Jones coming

back,

that'll help them in the half court

because Bree Jones can put her back to

the basket and get you a bucket.

And in terms of like that Seattle game,

Atlanta's defense was just non-existent.

You know,

the storm shot sixty percent from the

field in the first half and seventy two

percent in the second.

Seventy two percent.

That's crazy.

That's nuts.

From a defensive point,

it was just blown defensive rotations,

too many second chance points allowed,

difficulty containing the dribble

penetration, late closeouts,

just poor defense.

I think once they get bodies back

healthier,

it'll look a little bit cleaner,

but they got to start on that defensive

end.

They should be one of the best defensive

teams in the league.

They have the bodies and the skill set

and the athleticism to do that,

but

you know, they're having a rough patch.

I, if I'm an Atlanta fan,

I'm not taking it too, you know,

too seriously at this point in time,

but it's definitely something to note.

You know what I'm saying?

It definitely is,

because you've got the Mystics coming up.

Not saying they're a slouch team,

because they're going to compete,

the Mystics.

And then now you've got the Valkyries

again on Saturday.

You've got coming back,

and then you've got another game against

the Storm.

So you can get some stuff back.

Then you've got Portland.

You can get some more wind under your

belt.

I think a lot of these games are

at home.

Matter of fact, yeah,

after the misses game,

the next three is at home.

So they get that home cooking,

that home crowd behind them.

But like you said,

and we know Bree Jones is a big

piece that's missing.

I don't know when she's due back.

I think they said the last I heard,

did she just start five on five?

Damn.

I think I heard that.

If she didn't start already,

she's like a week or two away.

But I want to say I thought I

heard them say she just started like five

on five, but I could be wrong.

It could be somebody else who just started

five on five.

Do we think she's going to be back

before All-Star break or right after?

I wouldn't bring her back before.

Why?

Yeah, me either.

I'll wait to after All-Star.

Give her a little bit of extra rest.

I mean, they're still...

What's their overall record?

Twelve and seven?

And what's their ranking?

Like, where are they in the standings?

Excuse me.

I don't know.

Wally, you got that?

I can look.

I don't know what their standings are.

Probably because I know that three to

seven spot is kind of close.

So if they're still in that middle tier,

I'm in no rush to bring her back.

Just because why try to speed up the

process when you can bring her back after

you still have half the games to play.

Minnesota, Vegas, Golden State, Atlanta.

Yeah, I'm not bringing her back.

And then the Liberty.

Can you guess who the sixth seed is

right now without looking at the chat?

The sixes.

So you said Lynx, Aces, Valkyries,

Liberty.

I'm going to go... Not the...

I don't know.

Seattle?

No, they lost like eleven in a row.

Hold on.

They lost like eleven in a row.

It got to be...

It has to be the Fire or Dallas.

Yeah, it's Dallas.

Yeah, it's Dallas.

Damn, they're six?

Yeah, they're six.

And then the Fever is seventh,

and then Washington is eighth.

I forgot.

I honestly forgot it was the Fever.

Damn.

Yeah, because, you know,

the Fever has been – In headlines,

brother.

They're some traffic cones.

Yeah, they're some traffic cones, too,

on defense as well when you got –

And that's why there's seven.

Both of them guards just look like they

can't guard a stop sign.

And that's why there's seven.

Yeah, that's definitely why.

I don't care how many points you can

put up.

You got to be able to stop.

Yeah,

you can't get you got to get consecutive

stops and they can't get that sometimes.

So I'm not going to lie.

I didn't expect them to look this bad.

Like,

do I think it's time to turn it

around?

Absolutely.

When you have great players on your team

like they do.

But I didn't expect them to look like

this.

They're really struggling at that four

spot not having Natasha Howard anymore.

They're really struggling there.

They don't know if they want to play.

most villains they don't know if they want

to play maisha like they don't know they

don't know what they want to do there

and it doesn't help that lexi's struggling

either yeah but neither neither one of

them are giving you anything regardless

that's what i'm saying that but that's

that's the point like they're not getting

anything from that four position at all at

all zero um

That's why I asked about Lexi last week

before I got a phone call and everything

just started to go haywire on my side.

But that's why I asked about Lexi last

week because I'm like, man,

we need just a little bit of offense

out of you just to be a possible

threat to help cover up that four spot

at the very least.

I'm not sure what's going on with her,

to be honest.

Me either because I felt like she shot

a lot better last year.

Yeah,

the shots that she's getting are shots

that she usually knocks down.

So I'm not really sure what's going on

with her.

Hopefully she can change it around in the

second half of the season.

But, I mean, even Aaliyah Boston, yeah,

Aaliyah Boston,

like looking at her numbers, they look,

I think,

almost either equivalent to last year or a

little bit better.

But the eye test,

she doesn't look – like it doesn't look

better to me

visually watching the game.

It's weird.

I don't know.

I don't know how to explain it,

but like,

it just looks like enough touches, right?

Like she's not getting enough touches,

but her points are like her production is

still kind of similar.

I don't know.

I just, you know,

I've been saying it since Caitlin got

there.

I think I love Caitlin's playmaking

abilities.

I think that that is the best part

of her game, to be honest.

Like I'm not as wild by the logo

threes as everyone else is because Sabrina

was doing that shit too.

Other players have done it,

but she just had a little bit more

leeway in doing it based on the school

that she went to.

She was not going to be pulling that

shit at South Carolina or UConn,

schools like that.

But her playmaking, in my opinion,

is her best attribute.

And I think that even with that said,

I think that the Indiana offense runs

better when Aaliyah Boston has the ability

to make plays in that high post position.

And I'm not saying that that should be

the only offense that they run,

but

But I think that it should be a

large part of their offense when she's at

the high post and able to make decisions.

Mm-hmm.

I don't even know how we got into

fever, but yeah.

Me either.

Before we... Running down the schedule.

We did.

Running down the schedule and the

standards.

Yeah.

Before... And Jeremy,

who knows if Golden State actually wanted

Moe Billings?

She can't stay somewhere they don't want

her.

But real quick,

before we move on from Atlanta...

The little goofy situation that happened

between Flage and Angel,

is it a big deal?

A lot of people were saying it was

a minute left,

and Angel was just locked in,

and they felt like Flage was being petty.

How y'all look at the situation?

She was locked in.

I mean, the game was essentially over.

She locked in about.

Yeah, the game was over.

what i'm confused i didn't see it live

i saw like the after like the aftermath

on social media and i mean i get

both sides of it people think four was

trying to be petty but angel did the

same thing to kai literally she did the

same thing to kai when they were winning

and kai like kind of you know we

all know that they're close kai done

bought the girl flowers and all that kind

of stuff

But like Angel was trying to dap up

Ka or play with her like when Atlanta

was up and the game was almost over

and Ka was like this and kind of

pushed her away.

So it's like you can't you can't have

it both ways.

Like, you know, you just can't.

That's my opinion.

You just can't have it both ways.

But I don't care about that, man.

I don't need her to try and do

the same shit.

If Atlanta, let's say Atlanta wins,

you know,

they're about to close out the game.

She better keep the same energy.

Don't try and depth for her.

Oh, yeah, the next game,

if they beat Seattle and there's a minute

left,

she can't do that because the way she

didn't like this.

I'm going to keep it a bug, though.

Don't dap me at all, bro.

First of all, I'm a sore loser,

but I can admit that.

I don't like to lose.

I hate losing more than I like winning.

And so if I'm just as a competitor,

friend or not,

don't that me up when it's time on

the clock.

I'll see you guys in the game.

No facts.

And I think it's more so.

And I think it was just more fuel

to the fire because people said that Flage

and Angel don't really rock with each

other.

They got history with each other.

They won a national championship.

So they've been in the trenches.

They know how to get under each other's

skin and shit like that.

Yeah.

But that's why I didn't like it.

That's why I didn't like Angel's reaction

because she knew all the cameras on her.

You know what I'm saying?

And because it's already this narrative

behind y'all not liking each other, like,

worst case scenario, just, you know,

give her a head nod or something.

You know what I'm saying?

Mm-hmm.

Tiger said,

if it was the other way around,

people who were mad would be eating it

up.

Yes, I know.

Yes, they would.

We know how it goes.

But I do feel like Flagey was being

petty.

Like, for sure, she just bust her ass.

Flazzy had a great game, too.

Hooping.

Hooping.

She was busting their ass and shit like

that.

So who knows?

But then also, in their defense,

wasn't that, like,

the first win after losing eleven games?

So she was probably just hyped.

Yeah.

They had lost, like,

eleven in a row or something like that.

So, baby, I'm talking about shit, too,

because guess what?

Y'all a contender.

Y'all supposed to be one of the best

teams in the league.

We're supposed to be trash.

We're supposed to be rebuilding.

We just cooked y'all.

Like, I'm talking about shit, too.

Yeah, so I didn't, you know, you know.

I get both sides.

Yeah, I get both sides for sure.

You know, it was just funny.

You know,

you can just look in the comments and

see how people reacted and how people was

reacting.

I just,

I knew how it was going to go

down because when Angel was involved,

I know how that was going to be.

But I don't, like you said,

don't dap me up.

Don't dap me up when it's time on

the clock.

What did I just say?

Triple zeros and I'll come out to shower.

Like, depending how bad you whoop my ass,

like,

I don't want no parts of that shit,

so, but I didn't,

I just want to know y'all thoughts on

it.

I didn't want to know,

I didn't give a damn if she about

to, like, like, people took it.

The Dream were on a back-to-back.

Yeah, so it was like... Yeah,

because I think they said that was their

sixth game in like ten days or something

like that.

Yeah, it is what it is.

Like, you go from the... The prior legs,

we get that.

We get that.

Yeah, we definitely get it.

You got back-to-back games against a team

like the Valkyries at their crib.

Oh, my God.

And then you got to go to Seattle

and play...

But can we talk about,

let's just give Seattle their flowers for

a second.

They're not good.

But listen,

they're going to upset some teams.

If they can sneak in, I feel like,

in my opinion,

their rebuild is a little bit ahead of

schedule.

Because Flage is playing great.

The front court, Dom and I were like,

listen.

The foundational pieces are in Seattle.

Like they are going to be a very

good team and it's not going to take

them a long time to be in conversations

of being contenders because quiet as it's

kept Dom is coming, bro.

Like the game is slowing down for her.

This is only year two.

Awa looks great as well.

And so the, and you know, again,

I think they should have moved Ezi.

So we'll see what she does when she

comes back.

But with that three,

that young core with those three,

and then again, Stubba too, Natasha,

like I didn't necessarily love the signing

of her coming there, but damn it.

I like it now because she's been great

for them.

Like she's been great for that young team.

I was going to ask you this too.

This was like,

I didn't put it in the added to

the rundown,

but I was going to ask you and

while you can definitely chime in too,

but I was like, this is second,

this second month of the season ends

today.

And I was going to ask y'all like,

I sound like the top teams.

We know, you know, Seattle, not Seattle.

We know like Vegas and Minnesota teams

like that's going to be fun to watch

Atlanta.

But like what teams you like to watch,

what teams you think is up and coming?

I see you're really high on Seattle.

Yeah.

And I see people in the chat asking

about who has a bright future.

Who has a brighter future?

Mystics or Storm.

That's a good question.

It is.

I'm going Storm.

Because I think Dominique Malanga has the

potential to be a generational player.

And I've said that before.

She has the tools.

It's up to her.

So I think when you have anyone that

is that caliber of a player,

like we're going to look back on the

draft.

We're going to look back on these last

two drafts and say,

who was the best player out of this

draft?

You know what I'm saying?

And I think,

I think that I'm going Seattle and I

love Kiki.

I love, I love Sonya.

I think Sonya is an absolute superstar.

Like,

I think she's the absolute superstar.

I think the mystics were looking for once

they traded away, Brittany Sykes,

I think the missus were looking for like

that go-to player and that go-to player

down with Sonya, like that,

that's her role.

Like Sonya is a dog on both ends

of the floor.

And we knew that.

If I had to tip my hat to

Seattle, man, I just do because...

That front court,

the length of that front court and the

versatility of those young players, like,

this is the worst they're going to be.

Like, you know.

So, yeah, I'm going Seattle.

It's tough, though.

That's a good question, Jeremy.

You're going Seattle.

What y'all going?

Where y'all going?

I like the Mystic squad.

Yeah.

I love that squad.

Just, they're very fun.

They're very competitive.

The Seattle squad, as of late,

Even in the midst of that eleven game

losing streak, like you saw,

you could see that they were slowly

getting it together,

especially with their front court.

And I, yeah,

I could give the edge to Seattle until

Washington finds them a point guard.

That's a fact.

That's the thing about Washington.

The thing about Washington is, like,

I wish they did some goofy stuff in

the draft,

and we on record talking about that.

But I also wish they didn't even match

Shakira Austin's contract with the tempo.

I think that messes up with, like,

the timeline and what you expect.

I think it takes away from someone like

Lauren Betts.

Like, she fell into your lap, and, like,

you didn't even have to go.

You didn't have to go sign a match

of Shakira or Austin whatsoever.

You could just stick with that core.

And then you got Georgia.

Then you got... Rory.

That's not playing.

That's not playing.

Like, you got all these...

Then you also... Who else did you pick?

Cody.

You got Cody.

I feel like you just...

Cody's actually been doing better than

Georgia and Rory.

No, I will.

I will.

I will give you that.

I will give you that.

She has been like,

you're not expecting to score a bunch of

points when you got players like Sonia and

Kiki out there.

And, um, Michaela, what's her name?

Right.

Michaela.

Yeah.

Yeah.

She hooping.

She,

averaging about twelve a game and I know

Shakira is still averaging thirteen points

whatever a game but I feel like he

didn't have to sign her but it is

what it is with that but like y'all

said they need a point guard in the

worst way yeah like they need a point

guard in the worst way they should've got

Raven I'm not gonna lie man they should've

got Raven Raven would've been perfect for

the Mystics

Can run your offense.

Make sure everybody gets set.

Go and play defense.

Like, it was there.

Look,

y'all love to throw – Y'all love Deji.

Hold on, hold on, hold on.

Before we go,

I'm going to go to Jeremy's question real

quick because he said – Hold on.

Do you guys think Sidney Johnson is the

right coach for them to become a

contender?

No.

You know, he could be one.

You know how sometimes teams have that

coach that can get them to a point,

then it's time to move on.

Yep.

Because he can't get to that.

I think that's what he is.

I think that's what he's going to be.

He's going to develop these girls.

into what they need to be,

and then they're going to get the right

coach.

Oh, so he's Mark Jackson.

Yeah, maybe, like, they're going to get,

like, go get Tolliver.

Bring her, be the coach, head coach,

some shit like that.

I can see something like that happening.

You familiar with the city?

Yeah, you know what I'm saying?

So maybe something like that.

I don't love her at all,

but I'm that much.

Yeah, you that much over him.

I think the issue is,

I think that gave Sidney Johnson a little

bit too much power because they have him

making the decisions in the front office

as well.

They fired their GM right before the

draft, which was idiotic,

especially because that GM is actually

what helped them get this young core.

But that's another story for another day.

I don't know.

I just don't.

It's certain rotations that I don't love

from him.

The fact that they and again,

this is not disrespectful to Rory Harmon.

I think that she's a warrior at her

size.

I think that, you know,

she plays with a lot of guts and

all that stuff.

But I just don't understand the pick.

And I still don't.

The Georgia Amor pick.

I still listen.

I remember we were on playback and I

was sick.

Sick.

And it's no disrespect to her,

but if we're keeping it a buck,

she was overrated at Kentucky, too.

But people don't want to have that

conversation.

It is what it is.

Hey, man,

people don't rely on my short guards.

I'll be trying to... If you a tweener,

you ain't doing nothing spectacular.

You have to be spectacular.

Like, spectacular.

Like a Hannah Hildago.

Like...

Somehow Hannah's going to make it work in

the WNBA.

Even though she's only five, six,

whatever the hell she is,

she's going to make it work just because

she's that special.

And you have to be that special,

especially because now guards are,

you know,

you're looking at someone like Paige

that's six, one, six, two.

You're looking at Juju, that's six, one,

six, two.

Flage, that's five, eleven to six, one,

because when she's standing next to Paige

and Juju, she looked the same size.

So Flage got to be five,

eleven to six, one,

somewhere in that range.

But yeah,

you're looking at guards that are over six

feet.

Now the game has evolved where you don't

see small guards anymore,

like a Shannon Bobbitt or a

you know, a Tamika Johnson,

like you don't see cards like that

anymore.

And if you do,

you have to be very, very special.

So for example, like a Kelsey Mitchell,

who's probably five,

seven at best with shoes on, you know,

she's spectacular.

Like she's great offensively.

So she can, you know what I'm saying?

Like she can play in the WNBA,

but you have to literally be extremely

special in order to stick in this league.

How tall is Jordy Canada?

She got to be five, six, five, seven.

Yeah.

So you got to be like,

she's a dog on defense.

Both sides though, right?

Yeah.

Yeah.

Right.

Yeah.

She can score.

So you got to do something like players

like Georgia and Haley.

Like,

That shit is not going to translate if

you're not really just spectacular on

offense.

Like,

you can't be okay on offense and then

ass on defense as a short guard.

That's just not going to get it done.

It's just not.

Also, my thing is for the Mystics, shit,

you might as well give Rory a try.

I mean, shit,

it can't be no worse than damn Georgia.

It can't be.

I'm just being real, man.

No, facts.

No, I'm with you on that.

I'm with you on that.

I just hate seeing the fact that she

gets DNPs when,

Georgia's out there just doing whatever

the fuck and turning the fucking ball over

five, six times a game.

I told people, people was like,

just wait until she come back.

What I'm waiting for?

I'm still waiting, baby.

Yeah.

I knew it as soon as they picked

her.

And again, this is not disrespect to her.

Like,

she could probably have a great career

overseas or in Project B or somewhere

else.

But in the WNBA...

I don't know.

Hopefully she proves me wrong, though.

I want to see the home team do

well.

And I get it, like,

with the ACL and shit like that.

It's going to take time, right?

It's going to take time,

but you know what you know.

And that's the thing where people are

talking about with, like,

scouting and the W. Like,

people just be picking whatever.

J-Lens.

What'd he say?

You got three points in the quadruple

overtime game.

That's true.

AJ Lins and starting, though.

Yeah, starting.

I mean, Shakira had nine points.

Right.

She wasn't great either, to be honest.

She had some big box stuff.

She had some big box stuff.

And she had some rebounds.

She had a third team rebound.

We might as well talk about it.

Go ahead, Jay.

Might as well talk about it.

Yeah, who they play in that?

They play the Fire, right?

Fire.

What was the final score for that shit?

I don't even remember what the – Hold

on.

One, one, one, twenty-four.

One, twenty-four, one, twenty-three.

Hey, man.

It was like – it was like I

saw the first overtime –

Then I'm like, damn,

it's another overtime.

And then I forgot to go – I

don't know what I was watching.

I forgot to go back to it.

And y'all was like,

they're the fourth overtime.

I'm like, fourth?

What the hell is going on?

Like, yo,

it's – and that's my thing about it.

It's some really good, like,

teams to watch out here.

But the Mystics –

And the Fire is a good team as

well.

That's another good damn team.

Young team, yep.

Another good young team that you can check

out and watch out here that you don't

always have to watch the, you know,

the big-name team.

I'm trying to find a box score for

that game.

You got a box score up?

I got you.

I don't have a box score,

but I got some points.

So, to me, what stood out,

can we talk about Carla late?

Oh, my gosh.

That girl.

Yeah.

and it's not just this game no it's

not no and not only can she score

the ball but she can also pass that

bitch she can she can just flat out

play basketball like we should be

concerned as americans coming into the

olympic games because for real these over

the water players these overseas players

have been cooking bro no they have

literally been cooking

Like they have, they have been cooking.

And so her ability to make tough shots,

her ability to get her,

her teammates involved.

I'm looking here and she had,

I think she had like thirty two.

Thirty two.

Thirty two six rebounds, nine assists.

Nine assists.

I'm like, bruh.

Thirty-two points, nine assists,

and six rebounds.

I just really like her game.

Now, I'm not going to lie to y'all.

That last shot before the overtime was

luck, okay?

It was definitely luck.

The three-pointer to – because Flores

missed a free throw.

Carla came down the three pointer to make

them go into overtime.

She was literally like falling,

kind of fading away, I should say.

And then it, you know,

hit the backboard and went in.

But she also made another shot,

another three pointer over Shakira Austin

that sent them into the third overtime.

So it's a great game by her.

She's going to be a really good player.

And I like what the coach out there

in Portland is doing,

because a lot of these players on this

team aren't like big name players that we

know, like all star players.

No,

but they still compete like they're a

young team that's going to play hard for

forty minutes and shit for however long

they played this game over almost an hour.

But they're just going to compete the

whole time.

And so, yeah.

I really like their game.

And again, on the Mystics side,

Mikayla really stood out to me.

I know Sonia played great.

She had thirty two points as well in

the evening,

fourteen in the fourth quarter to help the

Mystics come back and even push it to

overtime.

But like Mikayla, since her injury,

She's been she's been very good.

She scored thirty points and she even hit

some big time shots like when the game

was on the line.

And overall,

I think the Mystics like during this time,

they have really shown me a lot of

resiliency because out of the seventeen

games.

Nine of those games so far this season

have been decided by single digits.

So they're starting to build their

resiliency and trying to close out games.

They were relentlessly attacking the

paint.

That was something big that I saw after

halftime.

They had thirty one free throws compared

to Portland, seven free throws.

And I think another big thing was just

their defensive presence.

Like even though they were fatigued,

they were forced in Portland to take tough

shots.

And from a Portland side,

I think what I admire most about them

was just their ball movement.

Like they're excellent with ball movement.

Like they know how to get two feet

in the paint and pass it out to

the open shooters.

And they were knocking the shots down.

And I like how they get out into

transition and just makes it easy for

them.

And what I will say in a lot

of those moments,

where the quarters were kind of ending and

the overtime periods were kind of ending,

you thought that the Mid-Six were kind of

running away with it.

And every time the Mid-Six kind of went

on the run and you thought it was

over, like Portland had an answer for it.

So you got to respect that.

It was a great game.

You definitely got to respect them.

I saw somebody in the chat bring up

the tempo.

Tempo was like,

that's one of my favorite teams to watch.

I was definitely curious how this was

going to work with the coach.

I always forget her name.

Sandy.

They got Sandy and then Slim and then...

What the fuck is her name?

Marina.

There we go.

Miranda's scoring.

Fifty-three points.

God, Lee.

Fifty-three points.

That's another team,

and they're not even healthy right now.

They're missing Kiki Rice,

and I think somebody else got hurt.

Who started off great this season,

by the way.

Yeah, started off really good.

Started off really good,

but it's been a lot of good basketball

in these first two months that outside of

the top teams,

even the bottom feeder's been fun.

The Sky, they've been actually,

outside of the couple of them blowout,

they've been kind of fun to watch as

well.

We're going to have a conversation about

Skyler soon.

want to have right now i gotta look

at the numbers a little bit more before

i go in the way before i go

in the way that i want to go

in i gotta i gotta look at the

numbers a little bit more before i go

in the way i want to go in

because baby that off-court life is yes in

the game yes a lot of people saying

that off-court stuff is really taking a

toll on it you know it should happen

i understand i mean if you done seen

his instagram you would understand too

Yeah, like, you know, divorce, all that.

Why should we talk about Tyler Marsh?

I love when people say this.

Me too.

Because if you want to talk about Tyler

Marsh,

let's talk about how Camilla has developed

within the last two weeks,

how she looks within the last week and

a half.

Nobody wants to talk about that.

I think y'all damn sure was on,

y'all was on her head about a month

ago.

Yep.

Silent when she went thirteen for

thirteen.

But that don't got nothing to do with

Tyler Marsh or the Sky helping developer.

I forgot.

My bad.

We can only say only the bad stuff

is, you know, credited to Tyler and them.

Like Camilla's looking great right now.

Like they have injuries.

They just got slew back.

Um, you know, right.

Has she even started like, hell no.

I don't know a damn thing.

So she had to be looking pretty and

shit.

Hello.

And it was outside.

They was outside this week on the water.

We cheer out here.

Listen,

so I don't want to hear nobody complain

about Tyler Marsh and two folks start

talking about Lynn Roberts over in LA.

I don't want to hear it,

to be honest.

Because somehow she never gets blamed.

You have multiple Olympians on your team,

sister.

She'll never get blamed.

She never gets blamed.

But somehow Tyler,

who's had two shitty hands at

roster construction literally gets blamed.

Like, come on, y'all.

We got to use our brains a little

bit more.

Not saying that it's any of y'all in

here, but just in general.

Yeah, all that slew talk all offseason,

and she made a difference.

Hey,

she definitely had the offense flowing.

I'm not going to hold you.

A pure point guard.

One of the best the game has seen.

Yeah, you can put her at the one,

and then you can have Skyler play off

ball some more.

Like, you know, it works.

And then you got Sidney.

Because a lot of those games,

a lot of the games they lost after

Rakia went down,

they had a chance to win,

but they had nobody go get a bucket.

So now...

You know,

you can figure out some things where you

got Sidney, man.

She can hoop.

God bless Sidney.

Everything that's gone wrong with the sky

so far this season.

One of the major bright spots.

is Sydney Taylor.

That kid can hoop, bro.

She is, to be honest with Rekia Hurt,

she is the Sky's best offensive player in

terms of being able to go out there

and get her own.

You know what I'm saying?

And so because of Rekia's unfortunate

injury, now she'll be able to get...

Sydney will be able to get big minutes

throughout the entire year,

and it's going to help so much with

her development moving forward.

And so...

If the Sky, like,

one thing that they can be happy about

this season is them finding Sydney Taylor,

and she is going to go with that

young core for years to come.

It's going to be her.

I remember Kia gets back, Camilla,

and even Jaquez, you know?

Yep, absolutely.

Yep.

I think the only, low-key,

I think the only team,

the two teams I don't really like

watching, it might be three.

I don't like watching Connecticut

whatsoever.

I don't watch them.

Like, I don't like watching them.

Oh, yeah, she is good.

As I said, Kulibaly.

I like watching.

She's good.

I don't like watching Connecticut.

I don't like watching the Sparks because

they just.

I can tolerate them, but I get it.

Like, if that's the only game on,

I'll watch.

Yeah, yeah.

There you go.

That's it.

If they're the only game on, I'll watch.

But I'm not like, oh,

the Sparks come on at eight.

I ain't doing that.

Yeah.

Phoenix, that's another team like.

Yeah, dog.

God bless.

Yeah, I'm not.

But everybody else I watch.

They got to be the only team in

that slot.

Mm-hmm.

Like, pretty much I watch it,

but it's been good basketball.

I've been enjoying these first two months,

honestly.

I agree.

Outside of the extra BS that's been going

on the timeline, you know,

but I've been agreeing.

And I saw somebody say Steph White got

more smoke than Lynn Robbins.

Listen,

Beaver fans do not like Stephanie White.

And she's not a bad coach.

That's the funniest part about it.

She's not a bad coach.

She's not.

But let them tell it.

So who do they want, though?

That's my thing.

Because they didn't like,

what's the lady they had before her?

Why am I drawing a blank on her

name?

I forgot her name, too.

But they definitely didn't like her.

They hated her.

And they were hyped to get Steph White.

And now y'all hate her, too.

So I'm just confused on who they want.

They say she don't use Kaylin Wright.

And how is that?

I'm about to tell you.

I'm talking to you.

I don't know.

Ever since she held her accountable in

public about the defense,

they don't want her there no more.

Amanda.

I see Amanda.

They literally go on the floor and play

without a plan whatsoever.

Please.

Oh, no.

Kayla going to be shooting that bitch in

the parking lot.

Lisa, come here.

Yeah.

Oh, I think BB is responding to Amanda.

What's going on with Phoenix?

She is... I can't say old, but... Old?

I think it's a number of things.

I think they're injured.

Yeah.

The West Belt lady is out.

Oh, yeah, yeah.

If you think about it,

even though Thomas Christie size,

that's her name.

Yep.

Even though Alyssa Thomas is very skilled

and has been in a lot of conversations

for MVP, not this year, but you know,

prior years, she's not a,

she's an initiator, right?

She gets the offense organized.

She's not a scorer.

She's not going to take you off the

dribble and create her own.

Right.

So the only person that they really have

to create their own shot is Kyle and

she's inconsistent, right?

So when Satu was there last year, again,

Satu averaged seventeen and nine boards.

One thing we know Satu going to do

is put that bitch up.

So they don't have anyone.

They didn't replace her with anyone that

is going to look for their shot.

And I think that's where their offense is

so stagnant.

Their shooting percentages are down.

Like they just didn't they didn't

restructure the or they didn't restructure

the roster.

Well, in my opinion.

not at all i had no idea she

left for russia yeah i missed that god

damn she said i'm out literally i that's

crazy she got like literally she was like

i'm not coming what did she say she's

not coming back into twenty twenty seven

or something like that yo and she was

hooping she was hooping she was hooping

boy i guess she said look we need

we ain't making the playoffs like it

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But, yeah, outside of that, man,

anything else from the first couple months

for y'all?

I think it's been...

I just had some little bit of tidbits

on that quadruple overtime game real

quick.

Eight players played at least forty-five

minutes and above in that game.

Bridget Carlson, Mama Meg,

Sarah Ashley Barker,

Carla, Mikayla, Kiki, Shakira, and Sonya.

Again, Shakira,

you played all them damn minutes and only

had nine points and thirteen rebounds.

I'm kind of pissed off about that.

Also, Washington has both record,

you know,

holds the record for both games that went

into quadruple overtime.

And they produced two hundred forty seven

combined points.

and this is the highest in WNBA history.

Okay.

Shit.

Shout out to them.

Hey, you know,

I had to do my research, though.

Before we go to the best fit check,

shout out to the Women's Basketball Hall

of Fame this weekend, inducting, you know,

Sheree, Doris Burke, Candice Parker.

Yeah.

Who else was I missing?

Somebody.

Sure.

she introduced candace but she's inducted

into nate smith in a couple weeks i'm

missing somebody um oh uh and it's

somebody very important uh why am i

drawing a blank candace me and kate i

literally just talked about it yesterday

candace

Coach Reed.

There we go.

Elena Deladon.

Yes.

Thank you, Jeremy.

Elena Deladon.

Man,

just even preparing for the show yesterday

and talk about Elena Deladon.

That shit had me so hyped because Elena

Deladon is severely underrated.

Severely.

When you look at what she was able

to do in eleven years.

And I said this on the other podcast.

I'm going to say it on here.

If we're talking like if we're solely

talking skill set,

Elena Deladon is one of the best players

I've ever seen play basketball.

We're solely talking skill set.

It was no weaknesses in her game at

all.

Could shoot the middie,

could take you off the dribble,

could handle the ball like she was a

guard,

could step back and shoot the three.

Shot over ninety percent from the free

throw line.

Was the first person in WNBA history

fifty, forty, ninety.

Like literally in twenty nineteen had

multiple herniated disc in her back.

And still played in that finals game to

help the Mystics win the championship

against Phoenix.

And she had like twenty one and nine

boards, had multiple herniated discs,

could barely walk initially.

Like this is someone that had Lyme's

disease and had to take sixty four pills

a day in order to play.

Yep.

Sixty four pills a day in order to

play the game of basketball.

So just imagine the what ifs if she

never was injured or she didn't have to

deal with like, you know,

how terrible of a disease that Lyme

disease is like just an incredible

athlete.

Love how she did it.

I just want to give her her flowers,

but love how she did it.

She didn't go to one of the schools

that everyone literally went to,

like a Yukon or Notre Dame or Tennessee

that was very popular at that time.

but she chose her own path and stayed

home and went to Delaware and cooked in

Delaware.

You know what I'm saying?

Cooked.

Cooked in Delaware.

And so I just can't say enough positive

things about her just because, like,

I always talk about Candace Parker's

two-thousand-eight year where she won

back-to-back natties,

then came into the WNBA and won MVP.

and ricky of the year and then went

on to win an olympic gold medal but

in twenty nineteen elena deladon had a

hell of a hell of a basketball year

too she won mvp she went on to

win the the wmba championship and then she

went on to win um uh mvp you

know finals mvp so just wanted to give

elena deladon um her just do flowers

just because she's one of the greatest

ever doing.

I think that people often forget it.

And I think one of the reasons is

because she wasn't very loud either.

She had a quiet confidence about herself.

And I feel like sometimes players are

often overlooked when we're talking about

the greatest of all time or just players

in that same category.

They're often overlooked if they're not

like,

you know,

out there with their personality and just,

you know, in front of the cameras,

like she literally did her work and went

home.

Like that was, you know, that was,

that was her job.

She put her hard hat on,

did her job and went home.

Like she wasn't for all the spotlight

shit.

She just worked on her game.

And when we talk about skill for skill,

it's not a lot of people that can

say that they were better than her.

This is just a no question.

You make a top-twenty-five list.

Is she in the top-twenty-five?

She in my top-twenty-five.

If we're talking about... She's in mine,

too.

So my issue is...

So I guess the issue is when people

look at her accolades and compare it to

others, they don't... Like,

because she only played eleven years...

Yeah.

Um...

Because when you think about it,

most of the players that we talk about

are the greatest of all time or in

that in that range.

Like Diana played twenty years.

Sue played nineteen years.

Candace played sixteen years.

But they typically play at least fifteen

years or more.

So because her time frame was so short

and I realized this yesterday in multiple

of those seasons,

she played less than twenty five games.

So she was able to accomplish all these

things in less than twenty five games and

multiple seasons.

So my point in saying all that is

I think that when people look at her

resume and try to compare to others that

had longer jeopardy than her,

I think that's unfair.

I think you have to look at the

body of work based on the injury history

and based on what she was able to

do in that short period of time.

Right.

I'm with you.

I am with you.

But look, Maya play a season.

She's a go to me.

That's fair.

But another thing about Maya,

she didn't have any major injuries

injured.

The she didn't have any major injuries

that sat her out for extended periods of

time.

Like Elena Deledon, in my opinion.

And if you want to go for skill,

I love Maya.

We might have to have a conversation.

I'm not going to hold you.

If we want skill for like skill set

for skill set.

Elena didn't have no weaknesses in her

game.

Man,

and she was hooping like them years she

was here.

Oh, my God.

I said I was so happy when Chicago

fumbled and gave her to us.

Just dumb.

Just dumb.

Like her twenty fifteen year when she won

MVP, man, she was going crazy.

She was hooping, bro.

She was hooping.

Oh, my God.

But yeah, I agree.

I'm glad I'm glad everybody is.

I'm glad everybody is appreciative of

Laina because people will be talking a lot

about her.

And she didn't even play in the Wubble,

as they call it.

Wubble?

She didn't even plan that.

I don't blame her.

You immune compromised.

I ain't planning that.

I wouldn't either.

Shout out to them.

Thank you for bringing that shit up.

EDD definitely needs her shine.

She definitely does.

She gets forgotten about a lot.

Give Asia that word consistently.

True.

But in Asia's defense,

she wasn't in her prime yet.

But, yes, it's true.

That's true.

A lot of these players that we bring

up, you know, from the past,

like they're not getting that just due

from the league, which, again,

for it to be the third year anniversary,

like what the hell are we doing?

You know,

they should be celebrated so much more.

I'm so glad you brought this shit up,

man.

They should be celebrated so much more.

Yes.

I'm so glad you brought this shit up

because I know we got to get to

the fit check,

but this thirtieth anniversary is not

feeling like an anniversary.

It's so much from the weak-ass poster they

put out.

It's just probably not highlighting

players.

Players going to the Hall of Fame this

weekend.

I didn't even see that plaster all over

the place.

It's just not.

This is the third anniversary and you're

doing it like that.

People didn't even know the third

anniversary game was even happening.

You know why it's like this?

It's like this because independent media

has been pushed to the side.

So now storytelling is done by mainstream

media that doesn't know what's going on,

that don't know any of the players,

that can't pronounce their name because

they don't watch women's basketball.

So people don't realize that independent

media were the entities that pushed the

game forward when nobody was watching,

the entities that kept the WNBA afloat.

And now because of people putting

marketing dollars behind it,

the WNBA thinks that, oh,

we're only going to give it to mainstream

media and look what's happening.

People don't even know it's the thirtieth

season of WNBA.

Like, this should be plastered everywhere.

Like, literally, like,

me and K-Dot talked about it.

Like, they're dropping the ball.

Like, it should be plastered everywhere.

Y'all literally had one game and it was

like, oh, this was the inaugural game.

Like, that's not enough.

This league was looking like it was on

its last leg at one point.

We need to be celebrating every year and

especially the thirtieth year.

They're just dropping the ball,

to be honest.

Dropping the ball.

Like they had like that thirtieth

anniversary year that dropped,

which was cool.

But they had the basketball.

But it's been it's just been terrible.

Like it's been just a normal season.

A normal season.

A normal season.

Like, and I hate, and I don't like,

and I don't like trying to compare.

Right, that's the bare minimum.

No patches on jerseys or nothing.

Nothing.

Bare minimum.

Like, I don't like comparing this shit to,

like, to the NBA and shit like that,

but it's like,

when it was the fiftieth anniversary,

and when it was the seventy-fifth

anniversary...

God damn it,

you knew it was the fifth anniversary and

the seventh anniversary.

Like, you knew.

Like, fifth anniversary,

they had gold NBA logo on their jerseys

the whole year.

Like, they talked about it.

They had the fifth anniversary logo on the

courts the whole season.

Yeah.

They talked about, like,

you don't even know this shit.

You don't even know.

It's just business as usual.

And it's unfortunate because this would be

the perfect time with the new influx of

CBA money and the new eyes on the

game and more visibility and viewership.

This would be the perfect time for them

to showcase the thirtieth year.

And literally,

I think they should overdo it.

Like,

I think people should be so sick of

seeing the thirtieth shit.

You know what I'm saying?

And they're just dropping the ball.

And this is not the first time the

WNBA has dropped the ball.

Like, they just...

They need new leadership,

starting with the commissioner.

But that's another story for another day.

And I'll just leave it like that.

No, you, you,

we're going to keep talking about this.

Like it's, it's, it's looking bad.

Like it's just, you want to keep,

you want to build on this momentum.

You want to build on it.

No matter how I get it,

you're going to have bad press regardless.

You have good press, but it's like,

you got to build on this and you

got a third anniversary.

It's the perfect time.

Like you said,

the perfect time you have all this press

because of the CBA and players getting all

this money never got before and all this.

And you don't even, it's just womp womp.

Like, you don't even – nothing.

Like I said,

people didn't even know that was the third

anniversary game until somebody said it.

Like,

you don't even – why do you even

have it on NBC?

Like, that's where – like,

it was just certain things.

That's where it all started.

That's where it all started.

Like, come on, man.

I'm curious to see what they're going to

do all start weekend with this third

anniversary.

I'm really curious.

Come on.

I'm just – all right.

I won't hold my breath.

I'm like – I'm holding –

I'm holding out very little hope.

Very little.

Very little.

I'm going to say it like this.

I expect the events and parties to do

more stuff by the third anniversary than

what the league is going to do that

weekend.

That's what I think is going to happen.

For All-Star, look, for All-Star,

I've already prepared the others.

Yeah.

Oh, my God.

Kathy don't care about the league,

but wants to push Clark to be the

Messiah.

Yeah, I mean, that's how...

You can't push... We'll leave it at that.

That's a fact.

You can't push somebody who can't walk

into your bubblegum.

All right,

let's go ahead and go to the pitch.

Come on.

Let's get

My bad, that was out of pocket.

Well, it is what it is.

It is what it is.

It is what it is.

Man.

All right, off the muscle.

Got a little sabley.

A little sabley.

A little sabley is crazy.

A little sabley is nuts, dog.

It is nuts.

I mean, it's simple.

Simple, regular outfit.

I'm going six.

Yeah, I give a solid six, solid six.

Yes, a six, for sure.

Nothing, nothing.

Is that top see-through?

Yeah.

Yes, unfortunately.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Unfortunately, it's crazy.

Simple joint, yeah.

Look, you know, look, I be, you know.

Wally has always been called the top rope,

always.

A seven, a six.

Don't mind me, dog.

Please don't mind me.

Oh, man.

What else you got for us?

And she's been hooping, too.

Yes.

She's been hooping.

Missed nine point thirteen rebounds

herself.

Nick will be... He will love this outfit.

Right.

I had this loaded up for Nick.

I hate the jacket.

She just said, throw it on.

I mean, it's just a lot.

The glasses, the jacket, the...

I couldn't get past the jacket,

so I damn sure didn't notice the fucking

glasses.

I'm giving a four for the abs,

and that's all I got.

No,

I'm just looking at all the Caitlyn fans

that are mad at my comments.

I'm just going through and blocking.

Oh, boy.

What'd you say?

Nothing.

I just said,

I just reposted the Alyssa Thomas video

and I said, speak on it.

Protection should be for all players,

not just the ones that the league needs.

Oh, yeah.

They have to be in there deep.

I mean, they are.

I know.

I mean, because I didn't know,

but I'm just going through and deleting.

It's been, I mean, a mutant.

It's been, I mean, a blocking.

It's been fun.

Yeah, you got, yeah.

Some of these responses are insane,

but like, I'm not reading them,

but just like the pictures that they be

putting is crazy.

Yeah, they really do be.

I know we about to get over here.

How many black bitches get throat punched?

Fuck you.

Mind you, I didn't even mention Caitlyn,

bro.

These people are insane.

Yo, like, it's really...

I had some people in my comments, too,

when the shit went down when they

suspended AT.

And then when the fever came out with,

like, a message coming out, you know,

whatever they said about protecting.

And I was like, man...

They don't even put out – I was

like,

they don't even put out messages when

players on their own team and other teams

begin threatening about a fan base.

And then people was mad as hell.

People was all in my – I had

to mute, block people left and right.

But don't be coming out here.

It's just –

We hit on a good note,

but that is just wild.

We could talk about that fan base,

stand base every week if we really wanted

to.

We talk a lot about all these goddamn

stand bases.

Yes, so people should go touch grass.

They definitely should,

but we appreciate y'all.

We'll be back next week.

Follow us everywhere.

We'll be active everywhere, so follow us.

Enjoy y'all week.

Enjoy y'all weekend.

If you're somebody who deal with

fireworks, please be careful.

Come back to work with ten fingers,

please.

Hold on real quick.

I got a quick, very,

very quick fireworks story.

Let's hear it.

I used to live in the city.

We used to live in a hood.

So we were hood babies.

So we used to light our own fireworks

very early in life.

Like I was probably like seven year old

with a lighter light and shit.

Oh yeah.

Oh yeah.

Oh yeah.

Oh,

this kid in my neighborhood used to like

me.

And you know, at that age,

boys like try to hurt you low key

when they like, like they mess with you.

This man or this little boy, uh,

I'll never forget.

I had to be like eight or nine.

He took a sparkler,

one of those little sparklers,

lit it and put that shit on the

back of my neck.

Bruh.

I know you was mad as hell.

When I tell you my mom came out

of that house ready to knock his mom

out.

Fun times.

Fun times.

But yeah.

So yeah, I'll be playing around with him.

I'm like, nope.

I learned my lesson.

Boy,

them burnt the hell out of my back

of my neck.

Yeah, I should be a big firework pro.

I should light up shit.

I should put, like,

M&E's in the sewer and shit.

Rock the whole block.

Wasn't that a white kid?

No, I lived in the hood.

I grew up around black kids.

It was no white kids in my neighborhood.

I'm so sorry.

On that note, let's go.

Hey,

they gonna be getting nuts this weekend,

man.

I already know, man.

I just... Just be safe.

Just be safe, y'all.

Look,

they allowed the Potfire Hackers in New

York?

Right.

They gonna do it regardless.

I mean, it's illegal here.

I think it's illegal here, too.

They still be doing it.

People would drive right over across the

border to Indiana.

They don't give a shit.

They be letting shit off here.

They gonna have a good old...

Like I said, just be careful, y'all.

Be safe.

Please.

Come back with ten fingers, ten toes,

all that good stuff.

Don't pull a JPP.

Oh, my God.

Yeah, don't do that.

Don't do none of that shit.

What are they going to do?

Nothing?

They ain't going to do nothing.

Hey, New York and Chicago,

please don't do a damn thing.

They just don't.

They just don't.

But like I said, man, I appreciate y'all.

We'll see y'all next week.

Get us out of here, Wiley.

What's up?

Terry?

They gave me my theme music.

Thank you.
